Christmas, Tiana, & The MCU

Let Me Tell You!

I’m back!! Hi again! 🙂 ….there’s SO much going on yall, I had to circle back quicker than I usually do! Lets not waste any time and get into it!

6. Merry Christmas Already??

Listen it is just August and the Halloween décor is up and the parties have begun at Disney! But why stop there? Christmas will be here soon enough right? Walt Disney World‘s ‘Very Merriest After Hours‘ the new event that will replace ‘Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party’, will run on select nights from November 8th through December 21st from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets for the event went on-sale  August 20th, 2021. Yes, August! Here are a few things you can look forward to at this event!

  • ‘Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade’ featuring your favorite characters PLUS Santa Claus
  • ‘Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show’ hosted by Minnie Mouse and featuring Christmas carol favorites
  • ‘Club Tinsel Dance Party’: The cheeriest dance party at Magic Kingdom

Not really sure where 2021 went, but holiday season is upon us friends! If you have never experienced Disney during the holidays, I highly recommend it! The most magical time ever!

5. Princess Tiana Fans To The Front !

World Princess Week kicked off August 23rd , 2021 with some exciting news on the latest developments for Tiana and her new attraction! From the newest images of the attraction, the story will take place after the wedding and Naveen and Louis join Tiana on her latest adventure! Some of the Disney team recently gathered at Dooky Chase’s Restaurant in New Orleans to talk about Tiana’s impact over the past decade and the creative process behind the upcoming attraction, including the next-level technology Imagineers are employing to bring it to life! As we all know, the founder Leah Chase was one of the inspirations for Princess Tiana. To celebrate all of these developments, Disney announced a $50,000 donation to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, a regional, pre-professional arts training center. Princess Week started off on a very exciting note! I think I can speak for most of us when I say I cannot wait to ride down the Bayou with our good sis Tiana!

4. Ironheart’s Introduction To The MCU!

Kenneth Moton (National Correspondent for ABC News) Stella Chase Reese (Owner of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant and daughter of Leah Chase) Carmen Smith (Creative Executive, Vice President, Inclusive Strategies for Walt Disney Imagineering) Charita Carter (Senior Producer for Walt Disney Imagineering) and Marlon West (VFX Supervisor for Walt Disney Animation Studios)

Dominique Thorne, who will star as the superhero Ironheart in her own Disney Plus series, will make her MCU debut in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” next year, Variety has confirmed. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will hit theaters on July 8, 2022, and production began in June 2021. Her show was announced at Disney’s investor day back in December 2020 but currently does not have a release date. Dominique was also in “Judas and the Black Messiah” and “If Beale Street Could Talk.” She is just getting started, and I am excited to support and watch her career! Are you excited to meet Ironheart?

3. Hulk Is That You?

If the Hulk is your favorite Avenger let me hear you say hell yeah! (that was for my tik tokers hehe 🙂 )

Disney is developing an exoskeleton that could possibly bring the Hulk and other oversized characters to its theme parks! The project is still in early stages, as the engineers deal with how to blend a number of new technologies into a seamless character that not only appears real to parkgoers, but is comfortable and easy to use for the Disney performers. The company has no date for when these oversized characters will appear in the parks. Who would you want to see first?

Jonathan Becker (Research and Development Imagineer), Josh D’Amaro (Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products), Richard-Alexandre Peloquin (Research Engineer Imagineer)

2. You Gotta Pay to Play !

I think it is safe to say that we all saw this coming! Disneyland and Walt Disney World have decided that customers will need to pay extra to skip lines for rides. Park goers who want to skip lines will now need to pay $15 per ticket per day at Disney World and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland to access the new Disney Genie+ service, the company says. The Genie service will be built into Disney’s apps and is designed to create personalized itineraries for you to join virtual lines and to skip lines and access rides through Lightning Lane entrances. Now Im not going to lie, I do feel a way that you have to pay extra (on top of the $15 and $20) for popular attractions because those are the attractions we ALL love! But I think this new system will be great and the initial shock will wear off from FastPass going away. Universal charges $69, so Disney can gladly have my $15! Okayy!
