We have seen this question pop up on the Soul previews and adverts. Here I am asking you if you have asked yourself this question. Have you asked yourself what feeds your soul? Truly? Have you taken the time to have this conversation with yourself?
Personally, I have this conversation with myself quite frequently. I am a big fan of solitude and spending quality time with myself. As someone who does not have children it comes quite easily to me. One thing I always try to do is journal. Journaling has been a large part of my self-awareness and self-love journey. A topic or theme that seems to be recurring is the act of filling my cup. What brings me a sense of fulfillment and joy? I understand that sometimes we are not ready to confront our realities. Maybe we are not living the life we expected. Maybe we are not happy with our life choices. Maybe there are tragedies that are holding us back from reaching our full potential. These are all heavy topics that stop us from digging too deep.
Maybe you have not even considered asking yourself these questions. Maybe you have become so content and comfortable going through the motions of your daily schedule that you have forgotten your passions. Maybe you have forgotten what feeds your soul and sets your heart aflame.
Whatever it may be, I just hope that this movie sparks the conversation that we need to have with ourselves. That is what the world needs. People who are in tune with what fills their cups and who are actively seeking joy and happiness. People who are living their passions and chasing their dreams. People breaking out of their comfort zones and no longer being content with being content.
Here I am challenging you to have this conversation with yourself. Take a few minutes for yourself and think about what feeds your soul. You may find that you are actively filling your cup. You may find that you need to readjust and make some changes. It is never too late to begin. Honestly, now is the perfect time. New Year, New Beginnings. Right?
If you are up for this challenge, then here is another one that is almost as important. After you have this check in with yourself, I encourage you to check in with your friends. Ask them about their passions, hopes, and dreams. Then ask them if they have a plan to continuously fill their cup and bring joy into their lives. I am all here for personal accountability, but I would be remiss if I did not mention the importance of having a community or partner in crime. One of the things that brings me a great sense of joy is discussing my dreams with my friends. Being encouraged and uplifted by those who know you best is extremely important. Maybe the question is not just, ‘what feeds your soul’, but also ‘who feeds your soul’.
